Propose Mitigation of Earthquake Prone Areas Based on Earthquake Microzonation Maps, Dr. Ir. Windu Partono Inaugurated as Professor of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP

Indonesia is an earthquake-prone area because it is traversed by the meeting point of 3 tectonic plates, namely: the Indo-Australian Plate, the Eurasian Plate, and the Pacific Plate. Therefore, Indonesia is required to have a microzonation map that can function to facilitate mitigation as well as become the basis for the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings and infrastructure.
